I’m checking the Consumer Guide magazine July 2009 “CR Best Buy” and under the COMPACT on page 28, it’s the Canon Power Shot A590IS; and the price range is $110. The overall score for this camera is a 70. Why is the Amazon price so much higher? Did someone make a mistake?

I had a 4 megapixel canon that I loved, but accidentally got it wet and ruined it, so I replaced it with a ten megapixel Nikon, what a joke, the Nikon’s manual was complicated and I never took a picture over 2.6 megapixel with it, in spite of its ten megapixel rating. Problem was also that the camera would turn itself on in my pocket and the rechargeable battery pack that came with it could only last about fifty picture frames. so I decided to try a Canon again, this time the twelve megapixel camera, again, the camera only takes 3-4 megapixels at the most, but at least I can use rechargeable AA batteries that last for 300 pictures or more, and the on off switch is so well recessed I don’t have to worry about it turning itself on without my knowing it. For my money you have to stick with Canon, simple instructions, maybe not performing like I would like, but way better than a Nikon… don’t get Nikons, stick with Canons.

THIS CANON POWERSHOT A1100IS IS JUST TO SLOW. IF YOU OR YOUR SUBJECT IS MOVING YOU WILL MISS THE SHOT . I AM NOT HAPPY WITH IT.

I had this camera for less than six months and used it lightly and the on off button stopped functioning. At first it would not shut off then not on. Just not well made. Cannons quality has really went down as this is the 2nd cannon I have bought in the last 3 years and had it stop functioning. The other was used a bit more and we had it a year. However this one was on a shelf most of the 6 months we had it.

the camera is very good and picture quality is also amazing. Its very portable and the improvement which I saw in this version of cannon camera is, now it doesn’t takes too long to take each photo like the earlier models of A94. It now takes the pic first and then processes it and saves it. Only problem is eats up batter very fast.
